Disability insurance is a mutual agreement between the provider and the recipient policy in which the supplier agrees to pay a certain amount of money to the beneficiary on some unexpected events leading to a disability that incapacitates the person to do their duties of occupation and / or any other work.

   Disability is of three major types, depending on the clause proposed by the insurance provider:

   a) Own occupation disability

   b) Income replacement insurance

   c) gainful occupation coverage

   1) Own occupation disability insurance refers to the money claimed by the beneficiary at its inability to perform the regular duties of regular occupation, even though the person may or may not capable of doing other work.

   2) Income replacement insurance policy means that the provider is supposed to pay the agreed amount in case of any mishap, because you can not do their duties, both in their profession and any other work.

   3) gainful occupation coverage indicates that the beneficiary receive the payment if he / she is not able to perform the duties of the profession, or any other work which the person is able to do because of their education or knowledge.

   There are some other legal terms attached to this type of insurance. Elimination period is the time from the date of disability to the maximum time that you are eligible to earn benefits. Eliminating short period will be charged higher than during the elimination period.

   The period of time the recipient is eligible to gain advantage is called the benefit period.

   Now the most important is that some items that are excluded from the usual policies, for example, if the applicant has a disability in times of war or even while on drugs or alcohol or that the damage involved in crime, while most policies or refrain from providing benefits or provide limited benefits. These points are being considered before signing for the policies for these are usually written in smaller letters.
