One fact that stands out about snowboarding is that it is the fastest growing sport in the United States today. We all know that snowboarding has now been incorporated into the Winter Olympics, but every Olympic year, we see an increase of events and participants. There are now six events in snowboarding games during the Olympics, three men and three women.

  Snowboarders at one point were stereotyped as young men rebel, because when the sport started out, it was young men who were doing the boards in their classes or store in their garages. It took the young men who were bold and dedicated to making the sport as recognizable and popular as it is today. However, over time, things changed. Now, the sport is seeing the participation of both sexes and females may be so bold as dogs.

  In 2004, 51% of snowboarders were between the ages of 7 and 17 and at that time there were more than six million participants in the sport. If you think about it, thatâ € ™ s more than half of all snowboarders who were all young. Who knows why the pictures turned out this way, it could be because young people like to try the next new thing and with the growing popularity of the sport, young people were beginning to experience it. With roots in snowboarding skate again many people are skating with the advent of video games as Tony Hawk. This could be because more people were participating in the sport at the time.

  Only 27% of the snowboarding community was women. Now you see why snowboarding has been stereotyped as a male sport. It was dominated by men, and still is today, however, the percentage of women participating has increased over time.

  Snowboarding is great exercise. Snowboarding requires the use of non-typical muscles, those who do not normally use. You use your ankle and foot muscles for the steering and balance. You use your quadriceps and hamstrings to guide the movement of the plate, starting or put it in motion or stop it. Abdominal muscles help provide strength and stability to snowboard. Snowboard Recreational may allow you to burn 200-630 calories per hour. Competitive snowboarders can allow you to burn 560-1260 calories per hour of competition, depending on your age and weight.

  Every year that passes, more and more facts and data are being written about the sport of snowboarding. Because this is a relatively new sport, more and more things are being developed, tried and used. You will see a different set of facts and figures that are being created every year.
